Gewerkton — magazin

A construction site is full of things that can disappear. A spoken instruction is carried away by noise. A decision made in a meeting is remembered differently by different people. A defect is noticed, discussed and then buried beneath the next urgent task. Gewerkton begins with a simple response to that uncertainty: capture what happened while standing where it happened.

When a voice becomes evidence

One founder.
Three products.
A fleet of agents.

Gewerkton is being built around one construction-site problem: reality unfolds faster than administration. Voice-first capture moves the record closer to the moment itself.

Born in the German market, with deep commercial integration through GAEB, REB, XRechnung and DATEV — while being built for projects across regions, languages and infrastructure choices.

“On site, what counts is what’s proven.”

The platform is built around voice. A person on a scaffold can dictate an observation and turn it into structured evidence connected to a photograph, a deadline and a signature. The guiding line is direct: “On site, what counts is what’s proven.” Behind it is a larger idea about memory and responsibility. Words may be fleeting, but they can become a durable record when they are captured with the relevant context.

Gewerkton is a voice-first construction documentation and defect management platform for global markets. It was born in the German market and has its deepest German commercial integration through GAEB, REB, XRechnung and DATEV. At the same time, it supports 27 content languages and offers a regional choice of AI providers in the EU, the US and Asia, including mainland China.

The product is in beta now. A public beta is planned for fall 2026.

One founder, many coding agents

The human story behind the platform is unusual in scale but simple in structure. Gewerkton is being built by a solo founder directing a fleet of coding agents using Codex and Claude. Instead of organising a conventional software team, the founder coordinates artificial intelligence systems that can work across many parts of the product.

In one night, that fleet shipped 21 software packages. The work was verified with negative controls and mutation tests: methods designed to check whether testing can detect deliberately introduced failures, rather than merely confirming that software behaves as expected under favourable conditions.

That does not remove the founder from the process. It changes the nature of the work. The central task becomes direction: defining what should be built, coordinating parallel activity and requiring verification. The story is therefore not simply that AI writes code. It is that one person is using an organised group of coding agents to construct a platform intended for complex physical projects across regions and languages.

There is an interesting contrast here. The product captures human speech in places shaped by concrete, steel, weather, machinery and deadlines. The software itself is produced through a largely digital fleet. Human voices at the edge of a project meet machine-assisted work behind the interface.

Three parts of one house

Gewerkton has three product lines under one brand: Field, Studio and Cloud. Together, they connect activity on site with plans, models, operations and external systems.

Field: speaking from the place itself

Gewerkton Field is the voice-first construction site app. It turns dictation into evidence, defects and daywork reports, and also includes takt and portal functions. Its focus is the moment of capture: recording an issue or instruction while the person responsible is still on site and the physical context is present.

In housing and building construction, that can mean recording a defect with a photograph and deadline, dictating a daywork report or collecting a signature directly on the device during handover. In infrastructure and tunnel projects, where work can last a long time and involve many change orders, instructions can remain connected to their original audio.

Field is also intended for wind farms and renewable-energy projects, where sites may be distributed and crews rotate. Field acceptance can take place far from reliable connectivity, so offline capture matters in dead zones. The record does not have to wait for the site to become convenient.

Studio: a shared view in the browser

Gewerkton Studio is the browser workspace for plans and models. Where no model exists, the site team can create one in the browser.

This matters because not every project begins with a complete digital representation of the physical work. Studio gives site teams a place to work with the information that exists and to build the missing structure when necessary. The browser becomes a shared working surface between what was planned and what is encountered on site.

Cloud: coordination across the whole

Gewerkton Cloud handles operations and model or data coordination between Field, Studio and third parties. It is the connecting layer of the product house, allowing site capture, browser-based work and outside participants or systems to remain coordinated.

Customers can choose an EU cloud or their own infrastructure for data residency. That choice is particularly relevant when one project involves multiple companies, jurisdictions or regional requirements.

Language without forcing one AI provider

Construction is often multilingual long before software recognises it. A single project may bring together teams from the EU, the US and the Asia-Pacific region. Gewerkton supports 27 content languages so that participants can work in their own language while the original evidence remains unambiguous.

For projects in Asia, this includes Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese crews, with multilingual handling from capture to report. Data residency can be selected according to the project’s needs. The same approach applies to cross-border teams working together while speaking and documenting in different languages.

The platform’s BYO-AI model supports 13 AI providers. Users can bring their own keys and select a region covering the EU, the US or Asia, including mainland China. This avoids dependence on a single AI vendor. The choice of intelligence provider and the choice of data location therefore remain separate decisions rather than being fixed by the platform.

From meetings to accountable action

The range of intended deployment fields shows why structured capture matters. In data centres and industrial plants, many trades can be working in parallel under tight deadlines. Meeting decisions can become task lists sorted by trade, turning a spoken conclusion into work assigned within the project’s structure.

Gewerkton — from our own media bank

In housing, the chain may run from a spoken observation to a photographed defect, a deadline and a signature. In tunnels, it may preserve the original audio behind an instruction during a project with numerous changes. At a wind farm, it may allow a rotating crew to record field acceptance without a network connection. Across borders, it may let each person speak in their own language without losing the original evidence.

These are different environments, yet each presents the same fundamental difficulty: reality unfolds faster than administration. If documentation is postponed until the end of a shift or reconstructed after a meeting, context can weaken. Voice-first capture places the act of recording closer to the event itself.

A deliberately quiet public presence

The marketing site reflects another set of choices. It is available in 27 languages, uses zero trackers and has no cookie banner. Its architecture is fully egress-free. Gewerkton has also produced a media bank of more than 51 clips and posters.

Those facts give the brand a broad public vocabulary without relying on behavioural tracking. The site can speak across languages while keeping its presentation focused on the work: what is captured, how it is structured and where the resulting data can reside.

The enduring value of a record

There is something deeply human in wanting words to endure. Speech is immediate and natural, but it is also vulnerable to distance, noise and memory. Construction intensifies that tension because spoken decisions can affect physical work, schedules and handovers. Gewerkton’s proposition is to preserve the immediacy of speaking while giving the result a clearer structure.

The platform is still in beta, and its public beta is planned for fall 2026. That status should remain central to any understanding of it: this is a product being built, tested and prepared for wider use.

Yet the direction is already distinct. One founder is coordinating a fleet of coding agents to build Field, Studio and Cloud for projects that may span scaffolds, browsers, remote sites, industrial plants, tunnels and continents. The aim is not to make the building site less human. It is to ensure that a human voice, spoken at the point where something happened, does not simply vanish.
